Hollywood Undead

Hollywood undead seems to have finally found the mix between rap and rock. They have rock beats and time signatures, but they rap like the crazy black people they are. (I actually have no idea their nationality, I just inferred based on previous observations.) Hollywood undead is the kinda band you listen to when you feel that no one quite understands how you feel. They rap about love, loss, suicide, and hard times. Sometimes they can almost be consider blissfully sadistic (especially when listening to "bullet".) Well, whether your life is a breeze or a shithouse, you can take a moment to recognize this great band/group of probably black people. Some of their best songs include but are not limited to:

Eddie Rabbitt

If you all don't mind I'm gunna switch genres. Now this guys a bit old (and apparently dead), but I'd like to spotlight Eddie Rabbitt. After a brief moment of silence I looked up a bit about this guy. He's kinda a country legend. He made TONS of songs of which I know and love, but I just never knew the artist. two dollars in the jukebox... Rocky Mountain Music... The Song of Ireland. These were the kind of songs that always made me feel all warm inside. Songs about struggle, heartbreak, and America. But of course he portrays these feelings without using all kinda of curatory words like rap tends to. (Not hatin against rap, I'll be spotlighting a rap group next time.) Now most people tend to look down on country, however I hypothesize that you must be listening to the wrong country. This isn't some Jason Aldean bologna. This is the real deal, so if I have literally any viewers at all, I suggest you expand your genrical horizons. (I did indeed make that word up, but it sounded like it could work.)

House of Heroes

This band astounds me constantly with their catchy tunes and alternative rock beats. Like most great bands, they started as a high school garage band known as Plan B. They slowly caught the eyes of locals and as they became more popular, they changed their name to house of heroes and stayed their awesome selves. According to the drummer of House of Heroes, Colin Rigsby, some of House of Heroes influences are: The Beatles, Queen and The Clash. Tim Skipper also said that Muse is a source of influence. To be entirely honest I didn't even know these guys existed until they showed up on my pandora radio (which is my main source of discovering music) and I was just about to skip them, when suddenly I found myself enamored with their catchy sound. (This song in particular was  "Love is for the Middle Class".) I then went on to find more from them via YouTube.

Thrice

Hello my fellow bloggers
The first band that I am spotlighting today is a band called thrice. This is a metal band from the early 2000's. Since they formed they have been blowing their fans' minds through heavy amounts of distorted guitar and constantly changing complex time signatures. Now it takes a drummer to fully appreciate this. I've been drumming for 12 years and I still have a bit trouble changing time signatures, so mad props to Riley Breckenridge. Thrice constantly changes up the typical metal to be more philosophical, and sometimes puts me deep in thought, but then BLOWS MY FREAKING FACE OFF with epic instrumentals. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite bands. However sadly they disbanded  a couple years ago. However recently an poster on their website said "Thrice 2015". Much like their music, this is very puzzling. Perhaps they are going to make more music, or perhaps they will go on tour once again. Either way, I am pretty freaking excited.

Introduction

hello people of the interwebs!

First of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jeb, I am have been a drummer since I was 6 years old, and I have a crazy passion for music. I have decide to start this blog in order to bring some less popular bands to light. *KEEP IN MIND* I am not an indie fan nor a pop fan. I love all music from classical to Dubstep. (However due to my percussion background I tend to be slightly inclined to Metal.) I will start posting bands hopefully every week. However I also have the attention span of a baby squirrel, so who knows how often I'll keep this blog. To be entirely honest, I don't even know how people will find this blog.
